Our Lord has blessed us with the presence of one of our diocesan seminarians. Bishop Taylor has requested us to help Daniel Ramos during his Pastoral Year experience. It is a blessing to have the opportunity to cultivate and foster the vocation of our future priests. I trust in your support and prayers as I express my gratitude for the welcoming community that myself and Daniel already experienced.
We entrust his vocation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Amen.
Fr. Ruben Quinteros
Here is more information about Daniel:
"I began my formation in philosophy at the Seminario de Monterrey in Mexico in August 2007 at the age of 19. In August 2012 I graduated with a major in philosophy. During this time of formation I discerned God’s will for me; a way of life through which God invites men to enter into a deeper relationship with him.
I understood that a call is a mystery and that I would serve in a new mission. I understood that I was called to guide, to sanctify and to teach God’s people to be an instrument of salvation and a presence of Jesus Christ himself.
Now, in this mystery, God has allowed me to continue my formation in theology for the Diocese of Little Rock. I am extremely happy for this opportunity I have been given. Trusting that God is the one who provides the means for the ultimate achievement, it is in the small and insignificant details where he acts. Without a doubt, God’s grace guides us to fulfill the mystery of the call.
The priest is the one who brings Christ’s presence in the Eucharist through the daily offering of the holy Mass. The priest is the one who brings men and women closer to God. God has never left me alone; he has listened to my pleas for love, mercy, justice, beauty, kindness and truth. Now it is he who asks me to answer his call to make him present in humanity and without hesitation I have responded “yes” and accepted becoming an instrument of his grace by sanctifying myself first.
The world needs priests, because the world needs Christ. I am completely certain that I want to keep going and to be of service to the community of Little Rock, by giving witness to the great example of our High Priest.
“Come, follow me … and when you do, do not be afraid.” “… If such a call comes into your heart, do not silence it! Let it develop into the maturity of a vocation!” — St. John Paul II"
