Principal Bio:

Hi, I am Mrs. Hiegel, principal of Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) School.

My career in education began in 1997, first as a high school special education teacher, then as an elementary 5th grade teacher and finally as a Special Coordinator. In 2021-2022, I was offered an opportunity to "evolve" in my career and accepted the position of Principal of IHM for which I am ever-grateful.

The campus, children and staff at IHM inspire me every day. Our school is a small but dynamic place where learning occurs not only inside our classrooms, but within our church and community as well. This provides me with a sense of joy everyday as I see clergy, parents and children working with us to make a great school.

My husband, Larry, and I have one child, Bryson, who attends IHM school. We are members of IHM church where I am a lector and Bryson is an altar server. In our spare time we enjoy going to parks and museums, working and playing at our cabin and traveling. Our dog, Toby, is our best family friend and provides us with great joy everyday!
