RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF CHILDREN

At Immaculate Heart of Mary, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adult (RCIA) and Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) classes are taught separately. All youths from ages 7 to 14 who wish to enter into the Catholic faith are invited to participate in RCIC. These classes teach about Catholicism in general, and prepare the students for the three Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. Persons entering the Church who have not been baptized will be Catechumens, and those who have already been baptized will be Candidates.

Classes will meet on Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 pm in the Parish Life Center. The program is typically one year in length, with candidates receiving the sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass. Parents are more than welcome to stay for the duration of the classes with their children.

If you wish to join this program, please contact the pastor, Fr. Ruben Quinteros at fr.ruben@ihmnlr.org.

For any questions about the program, feel free to reach out to the Director of Religious Education, Mary Loyd at dre@ihmnlr.org.
