Happy Halloween from 4th grade
We wrote and shared spooky stories and acted a little scary!

8th grade is reading "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe and discussing the themes in this notorious short story.

4th grade has been busy with their poetry unit and parts of speech. These "I am poems" were created with an emphasis on adjectives.

PreK3 painted a pumpkin and made it into a silly witch named Rose. We have learned a song about a little witch named Rose.

Students in 2nd and 3rd grade had a great couple of weeks studying the pioneers. We made cornbread, constructed wagons, and played a roll the dice game to travel the Oregon Trail.

The favorite trunk of Trunk-or-Treat goes to Jennifer Atilano. Jennifer won A $25 gift card to Kroger.

Come join us tonight for IHM's Trunk-or-Treat!!!

Kindergarten is enjoying playing in this nice fall weather.

Prek-3 enjoyed having a few books read to them by their fifth grade guardian angels while at the book fair.

Helping Hands!! The fifth grade guardian angels helped Prek-3 preview books and write a wish list of items to send home to Mom & Dad.

2nd grade had a great field trip to the Historic Arkansas Museum!

First grade completed a pumpkin observation! We made predictions on the length, width, weight, and total number of seeds. We discovered the best way to count the seeds was to make groups of tens!

PreK3 enjoyed the vist from the fire truck and fire house. They learned how to crawl out of a room filled with smoke and about stop, drop and roll.

PK4 enjoyed learning about fire safety last week. Thank you, Oak Grove Fire Department!

2nd grade has sent Flat Stanley on adventures all over the world. We received lots of pictures and notes about his travels. We are tracking where he has been on our map.

7th grade has been studying plants. Friday we set up our photosynthesis lab. Today we began our seed germination lab

6th grade is working on understanding Mesopotamian trading culture by conducting an experiment involving record keeping in cuneiform on clay tablets.

The 8th graders are beginning to look at historical connections to their novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" to help them better understand the racial tension that Harper Lee writes about.

8th graders hard at work.
